Eligibility for GATE exam

The eligibility criteria for the GATE exam are as follows:

  1. Educational Qualification: Candidates should have completed or be in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech/BPharm) in Engineering/Technology or Master’s degree (MSc/MCA/MAM/ME/MTech) in any relevant Science subject.
  2. Minimum Percentage: Candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent CGPA/CPI) in their qualifying degree. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the minimum percentage required is 50%.
  3. Age Limit: There is no age limit to appear for the GATE exam.
  4. Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens. Candidates from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are also eligible to apply.
